Day 1: New Years Day
January 1st, 2007
2007 has arrived. Today has been all about being with family – my husband, my children, my parents, my sisters, my brothers-in-law, my nieces, and nephews. It was a great day.
We all gathered together to share a meal at my youngest sister’s home. In the middle of all the hustle and bustle Niko, her son, decided he wanted to have a bath. He wasn’t well and he had a temperature so this seemed like a good idea. Once in the bath he came to life. He decided he just had to wear his swimming goggles. The sheer joy on his face as I took this photograph melted my heart.
I was reminded that this is how I want to feel every day – happy. We can find joy in the simplest of things. We do have a choice about how we feel.
